CANter Equine Assisted Learning & Psychotherapy

The equine encounter that moves you forward

We are a horse therapy team providing equine assisted learning, certified through EAGALA,

the world-wide body for equine psychotherapy.

We offer therapeutic intervention with children, young people and adults supporting them through various challenges, using the Eagala model.

Our team consists of a Mental Health Professional, an Equine Specialist and the horses.

We all work together in an outdoor setting, using a variety of equipment tackling tasks and activities designed to achieve your specified goals.

We support people experiencing emotional, social and mental health difficulties. Other people, seeking self-development and team building use our programmes.

We take an experiential approach. Clients are given both the time and the space they need to reflect and analyse their individual situations, making necessary connections and finally discovering their own solutions. The Eagala Model is effective because it embraces the science that humans learn best by doing.

Since solutions are personally experienced in conjunction with intellectual understanding, they tend to be deeper, more profound and longer lasting results.

We know these profound results do increase client’s confidence and self-esteem along with many other benefits.

The real benefits are:

  • Improves emotional well being
  • Increases confidence and assertiveness
  • Advances social skills
  • Reduces stress, anxiety and anger
  • Increases resilience
  • Develops boundary awareness and self reflection
  • Elevates self esteem
  • Helps achieve life and work goals
  • Creates calmness and peace of mind
  • Improves communication and relationships

CANter is dedicated to improving the wellbeing of individuals, families and groups in Hertfordshire Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire.

We support schools and centres offering the opportunity to bring children, young people and adults. Equine therapy can help eliminate any mental health concerns, increase health and wellbeing through learning, growth and development.
